GLOCK 33 SUBCOMPACT .357 SIG
I owe a review I was supposed to have on up last Friday, but with the holiday and all it was a bit difficult to sit down even for a short period of time behind the keyboard to bang something out. SO today will be a two for one day Ill rip this out and then post an open source later today.
Glock when you say that people think the be all and end all of handguns or plastic junk, I want my steel frame 1911 that won WWII. I am no "fanboy" but I do like them. they are very reliable not to finnicky with ammo and the Glock line has aftermarket parts for days. so that alone makes it a favorite in the tacticool community.
I picked this Glock 33 up used from a former coworker who decided to downsize his gun collection, and I got a killer deal on it, and I couldn't pass it up. I laid out a hundred-dollar bill and two bottles of whisky for her. so yeah, all in all great deal! the MSRP on one of these is in the ballpark of 500 - 545 bucks new used in the high 400's the specs on this are as follows: chamber in .357 sig, length over all is 6.5'', width 1.26'' height 4.21'' weight dry is 21.8 oz loaded about 25.9 oz mag cap 9 + 1 so all this adds up to a very comfortable EDC weapon. It is accurate I was practicing some pistol fight and CQB tactics and this gem ran like a top and was dead on every time I pulled the trigger. No, I have not really tried reaching out much more that say 15 to 25 yards but let's face it most of us will never need to try to reach out that far with a handgun anyway. the sight is acceptable there is no rail system so adding a light or flashing or laser to it easily but that's ok I don't want any of that stuff on this gun anyway. this is a EDC subcompact no frills get the job done and go home hind of gun and I for one like that about it. My G-19 is kitted out for a SHTF situation in the meantime I'll keep the G-33 stock as God himself intended on this bad boy.
My thoughts on the G-33 in general is a solid side arm that will get you out of a jam the size lets is be worn under cover and not show a large imprint on the area is rest. the trigger is a standard Glock pull feel and brake. so not the best in the business but definitely not the worst the sights are good even in low light so you can place it at the nightstand when sleeping and yes use it as a home defense gun all in all this thing tick a lot of boxes off. as noted in the body of the work a big detractor for some is the lack of a mounting rail. but if you can look past that I say don't ignore this as an edc weapon. Oh yeah, the other negative is ammo it's not cheap and can be difficult to find in most stores, but I see it in online shops and the price is so/ so there especially if you buy it in bulk.
